Porsche Centre Dublin Official Launch Event
The official launch event for Porsche Centre Dublin took place yesterday evening in our new state-of-the-art facility. The much-anticipated event didn’t disappoint, with hundreds of attendees flocking to the showroom just before 7pm. Convoys of Porsches both previous and new generation could be seen parked around the Charlestown area.
With many special guests and products on display, it was an event that could not be missed. The new 911 and Cayenne Coupe received plenty of attention, along with a host of classic Porsches. Race car driver Dan Harper was also in attendance with his GT3 Cup Car.
Group CEO Gavin Hydes gave an insightful speech into the groups journey with the Porsche brand. Initial applications where submitted to secure Porsche for the Irish marketplace in 2005. It wasn’t until 2009 that the application was approved and the group was awarded Porsche Authorised Repairer and Porsche Approved Centre. In 2010 trading commenced in Rochestown Avenue in Dun Laoghaire. The journey continued and in 2012 the group was awarded Porsche New Car Franchise.
In 2017 the site for the new facility was acquired in Charlestown. Work began on the site in 2018 and was completed in April 2019. Trading commenced on April 23rd.
Gavin was followed by Porsche Cars GB Managing Director Marcus Eckermann. Marcus discussed the exciting direction the brand is going in and the importance of the new Centre for the Irish marketplace. Marcus welcomed Gavin back to the stage along with Centre Principal Ray Rawlings to handover a plaque, which commemorates the opening of the new centre.
The entertainment on show throughout was exceptional, with performances from Prodijig and pianist Scott Newman.
As the evening came to a close, and the crowds began to disperse, it is evident that Porsche has a very bright future at its new home in Charlestown.
